During Golden Week 2007 we visited Kyoto. During our stay we went to one of the famous traditional “furoshiki” or cloth wrapping stores. The quality and colour of the material was amazing. We even got to see the furoshiki that Mick Jagger bought last year!

I’m about to go on vacation and drive 15+ hours and i just got my golden retriever puppy 7 weeks old and I’m just wondering if it’ll be safe to take him with me. I also need to know what i need to take with me if its safe to take him and if theres any medicine that I could give him.
Nothing wrong with taking your pup on a road trip.
The big things you have to worry about are climate control (i.e. that the pup doesn’t get too hot), and potty breaks (so the car doesn’t get smelly).
Other than that, you should be fine. In fact I’d probably recommend it, its a great way to get a young dog used to traveling in the car.
As far as shots go, don’t let him socialize with other dogs, but other than that you should be fine. Also get some information from your vet re disease status of where you’re going, so that you know if you need to take any special precautions that you wouldn’t have to at home.
I wouldn’t give him any meds. He’s still way too young to be processing much of anything.
I will have ten days free and was wondering what I could do in the vicinity of Dalian that would be fun, educational, and relatively inexpensive.
I am even willing to go to several different places as long as it does not cost too much.
I agree with the person above. The best thing to do is stay home and enjoy life for a week. All you’ll see is the back of people’s heads.
I was jogging through what is normally a super empty filed/park, only to find thousands of kids! It’ was Golden Week in Japan and there were tons of people there in Showa no Mori, ??????It’s about two hours away from Tokyo.
I was going to go surfing the next day but it was pouring rain! So I connected this video to another footage I had of a condom vending machine.

My starting point in Sapporo, should I drive towards biei or hakkodate to avoid the jam?
Since no one will go to Biei at that time of the year, go there but really it will be a wasted trip as there is nothing to see. Nothing is green and the fields are just barren. There will be a lot of traffic though towards Hakodate, most of the time the highway has only one lane, so you can’t even get out. It is the worst place to go during GW and all the hotels are always full. Make sure you have a reservation. I had to drive around until 1am to get a room at a motel once and was stuck in traffic for about 6 hours.

how much should my 8 week old female golden retriever puppy weigh?
They shouldn’t weigh a specific amount. You should not be able to see her ribs, spine or other bones. You should not be able to feel them very well. Your vet should be able to tell you if she’s healthy or not. I would say 11 pounds depending on her size (height and bone size). You should have her on a food with NO corn, wheat or soy. Evo, Innova, Wellness, or Solid Gold for puppies. Iams, Pedigree, Purina products, or Ol’Roy isn’t so good for them. Especially in the growing stages. And the food is expensive but you feed half and Golden’s have a low tolerance for grains in their diet and they will have skin problems with corn wheat and soy. I know you didn’t ask about this, but I would also recommend puppy classes that use positive reinforcement only. I just took my German shepherd pup to puppy class about 6 months ago, and it changed our relationship for the better. I can take him anywhere and he isn’t nervous or shy or anything! it’s wonderful. We bonded heavily.

We spent Golden Week in Hakodate. A “romantic” getaway from Sapporo with the 3rd best night view in the world (according to… Hakodate!) And while there were some highlights, we don`t see the need for a return trip. But the highlights are here for you enjoyment, on video.. watch and then YOU won`t have to go there either!!
