RJL Vlog #9 – DIY Okonomiyaki (??????)
Posted on May 25th, 2010 by admin
**WARNING** This vlog might make you hungry!
Had a great dinner out the other night with my good friend, Miymi.
She took me to a cook-it-yourself okonomiyaki restaurant. I really like okonomiyaki, altho I don’t eat it all that often. Many Japanese restaurants feature a similar DIY theme, but this was the first time I’d eaten okonomiyaki this way.
Enjoy!

Yum!
I saw that you had a lot of corn left over. Is it common to get a to-go box or “doggie bag” to take your leftovers home after a meal in a restaurant in Japan?

If i remember right …
If i remember right the best way to describe okonomiyaki to a westerner is its sorta like a pizza.
You take several ingredients and mix it into a batter, pour the batter onto the hot plate and let it cook. then top the batter with several other ingredients.
It sounds really good
“sounds like cow piss”
I like the idea of the DIY restaurant. Beside the fact that your paying money to basically cook your own meal it sounds like a lot of fun with friends.
