coool……….slightly uncool about the drving licnese…$3000???!!! thats like £1500 in uk pounds….i think we have a program like that, and i think its around £600 pounds but erm does the test system have a number of test like theory test and you need to pass that in order to do a practical test? ahh driving on the left side its not much of a biggy.

the only difference is the test is “written” only for people who take the driving school

You can get by not …
You can get by not paying 3G if you don’t go to a training school (just like the training for getting CDL in the states) and go straight to tasting station to take your test. However in this case the chance you get license is slim.

3000 bucks sounds right. On top of that When you purchase a car, you’ve gotta consider about the cost to keep it. There’s a reason why many people in Japan stay away from an old car because you need to take it to a mandatory full inspection regularly, and that’s another 1G right there. If you own a new car, you can do that every other year, but for an used car, it’s required every year. And don’t forget, If no parking space no registration. It wasn’t like that when I was living there.
